Strengths: Excellent leaping ability, and quick off his feet. Inside the paint he is a bully (in a good way). He is able to get position almost at will, and creat mismatch problems with his athleticism. He has pretty good hands, and he's one of those bigs that can actually dribble the ball in a fast break opportunity. He has good soft hands so you will rarely see him turning it over when the ball is passed to him.

Weaknesses: Lacks a bit in the height department at a shade over 6'8 with shoes. He has also been a big guy for a few years now, and has been able to impose his strength. People aren't sure if he will be able to carry it to the next level where the players are bigger, or to the NBA where Samuels would be considered a small PF prospect. While he posesses good open court passing he tends to tense up when he is defended by multiple players, and is turnover prone in those situations.
