College Stats

Strengths: Excellent athleticism at the SF position, and he has good size. Smith rarely gets pushed around. He is able to force some PFs out of position to go up and grab a rebound. It's rare to see SFs go after rebounds as well as Smith does. He has drive and kick abilities, and decent dribble penetration moves. He is an above average passer at his position, and has soft hands. Smith is an excellent defender.

Weaknesses: It might have something to do with the coaching at Tennessee, but Smith has deferred from taking 3pt shots as much as his freshman season. He will take the ball up high dribble in about 5-10ft and shoot his jump shots, or take it to the hoop. He has actually improved his 3pt shot although it still isn't up to par if he is to play full time SF in the NBA. He will be 23 when he enters the draft which is a bit on the old side. Has he already reached his potential? He needs to work on his unforced turnovers as well. He will go to the hoop and sometimes lose the ball off his leg or out of bounds. As much as he drives to the hoop you would like to see him drow more fouls, and not shy away from contact.
