Strengths: Thabeet did himself a favor going back for his junior year. At UCONN he will get much needed playing time to develop. Thabeet is an amazing athlete, and at 7'3 he has excellent NBA C size. He has a tremendous wingspan, and is very quick off his feet which allows him to clog the lane and reject anything that comes his way. For playing the game a relative short period of time Thabeet has improved drastically with college coaching. At C he has above average passing, and good hands. He has a great love for the game, and a good attitude. Very coachable.

Weaknesses: Although he has learned the game in a short period of time and has improved greatly he still is very raw, and sometimes looks lost on the floor. Outside of putbacks his offensive game looks almost undeveloped although this has been a spot Thabeet has been working on. Rebounding is also a problem for Thabeet. He isn't very good at getting position or boxing out as of yet. He tends to give up the boxout to shorter/smaller players. It's almost as if he is too passive when he is on the floor at times. He needs to realize that he can be very good at this game, and use that to improve. Some nights he will be the best player on the floor yet he plays like he's 3rd or 4th best.
