College Stats

Strengths: Good athleticism, excellent strength, and great length. Young plays PF for Pitt but it shouldn't be the position he plays in the NBA. He has developed a nice jumpshot out to the college 3pt line and has been hitting it with regularity. The good thing about Young is that if an NBA team plays him at SF he will also bring to the table PF skills which were learned at Pitt. He can create a lot of mismatch problems playing SF because of his strength. Defensively Young is a beast. He reminds me a lot of a certain NBA player named Ron Artest in that department. He rarely lets his player around him, and excells both at man on man, and team defense. He has a strong work ethic, and a great attitude.

Weaknesses: Young needs to work on his shot. He has improved a great deal, but it's still not there yet. Young cannot succeed in the NBA as a 6'5 (w/o shoes) 220lbs PF. It just wont happen. Also, Young is a bit old and will be 24 when it's time to enter the NBA draft. Some will question how much more he can improve. He will need a strong showing in his senior year.
